Why is this answer correct?
Germany follows the principle of monogamy: anyone already married may not enter into a further marriage (§ 1306 BGB); bigamy is a criminal offence. Only answer a is therefore correct. Several spouses at the same time (b) are forbidden, and after a divorce or the death of a partner one may marry again (c, d).
One marriage, one partner: bigamy is forbidden and punishable in Germany.
